Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith Trailer Analysis (Sci-Fi Genre)

 

At the start of the trailer there are the production company title which some of the audience will recognise. This is because this is the third Star Wars movie and the people going to watch it would have most likely seen the previous movies. After the production companies are shown there is close up of the chancellor who talks to Anakin Skywalker about "the dark side of the force". The music played during this scene is dramatic and increases in volume when Anakin asks "Is it possible to achieve this power". This scene is effective because it makes the audience wonder what will happen next. In this next few scenes the trailer shows the relationship between Anakin and the Chancellor developing. We also see the relationship between Anakin, Obi Wan and the Council changing. In these scenes the music becomes louder which creates tension in the audience and makes the audience think that something bad will happen. Half way through the trailer loud drums start to play and there are lots of fight scenes between characters in the film. Close up shots are used on characters to show their emotion and there are long shots of space ships and locations in the movie. The pace of editing speeds up which makes the scenes more exciting to watch and creates tension in the audience.
