Jason Bourne Trailer Analysis (Action Thriller Genre)

 

At the beginning of the trailer the main protagonist is seen lying in a bed which might bring the audience to think that he is injured. During this scene the main protagonist has flashbacks which are just clips from the previous movies. This is effective because people who have seen the previous movies might want to watch the new movie and find out why the main protagonist is lying in a bed. The next part of the trailer begins when a woman approaches the main protagonist and the main protagonist asks her to tell him what he doesn't know. Long shots of locations and close up shots of members of police department are shown. Then the main protagonist is shown trying to avoid pursuers by walking through a riot. A fight scene soon breaks out between the main protagonist and his pursuers and chase scenes follow. This part of the trailer is effective because dramatic music is played and the main protagonist is seen having a near miss with an explosion. In the last part of the trailer the dramatic music becomes louder and the first scene is of the main protagonist jumping off a building a grabbing onto a wire to break his fall. This creates tension in the audience and continues on to show a car chase scene and a punch up involving the main protagonist. The trailer ends dramatically with main protagonist knocking someone out with one punch. This is effective because it makes the main protagonist look powerful and makes the trailer exciting to watch.
