Digital Technology Reflection

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

What software was used?
In our AS media coursework we used Adobe Premier Elements 10, Blogger and YouTube. Adobe Premier Elements 10 was used to edit all our clips together to create our final media product.

What equipment was used?
We used a Camera and Tripod to film the clips for our final media product. The camera was used to film the clips for our final media product. The tripod was used to keep the camera steady while we filmed our clips.

What were the technical pros and cons of the software and hardware?
The software we used was easy to use meaning we didn't have to use too much learning how to use the software. Filming our clips with the school camera wasn't ideal because the quality and the sound wasn't very good. To mount our camera we borrowed the school's Tripod. This was helpful because it was easy to set up and it meant that the camera wasn't unstable while filming. A positive thing about the camera was that it was simple to use and didn't require us to waste time messing around with the settings. The computers we used weren't suitable for editing because the footage would always take a long time to load.

In what ways was technology used to create the production?
We used software like Adobe Premier Elements 10 to edit our final media product and we used the camera to film all the clips for our media product.

In what ways did the technology constrain or enable the production to be developed?
The camera enabled us to film our final media product but constrained the quality that our media product was going to be shown in.
